PA Consulting Group’s GDPR expert, Elliot Rose will be the keynote speaker at PASC 2018 (Payment Acceptance & Security Conference) – the premier annual event for the higher education sector.
Elliot will deliver a talk 'Beyond GDPR – making Privacy business as usual' addressing the impact of GDPR on organisations and a customer-centric approach they can take. His talk will highlight how this approach allows organisations to explore managing personal data to help make more informed decisions, and create a better experience for their customers and other stakeholders.
Elliot sets the scene as follows: "Many organisations have been working hard to meet the 25th May deadline to be compliant with GDPR, with many shiny new artefacts, including an inventory of personal data, a set of processes for handing rights requests and updated 3rd party contracts. However, the new challenge now is staying compliant (or at least knowing when you are not) and in a cost effective manner, especially with even more Privacy changes such as the new UK Data Protection Bill and the ePrivacy Regulation coming into force. We find that too many organisations are not thinking enough about how privacy will need to be managed on an ongoing basis in the future. There are many new tools out there that can significantly reduce the cost of compliance going forward. We have been working with a number of organisations on creating and implementing Privacy operating models and in this session we will share our thoughts and ideas on what is best practice and the pitfalls to avoid."
