On Tuesday the 19th of June, PA and 7Safe hosted a networking event at Holborn Bars conference centre in London for legal practices and City of London firms. Speakers included PA’s John Skipper and 7Safe penetration tester, James Dale. James addressed the issue of ‘Why pen test the cloud’ and illustrated his talk with the 7Safe Cyber Security Square, an aid to understanding the process flows involved in designing and implementing security controls for people, process and technology.
The event was sponsored by US software firm, Relativity, whose Senior Enterprise Account Managers David Campbell and Kieran McPate provided an overview of their easy-to-manage cloud solution, RelativityOne, and the benefits of migrating data to a secure cloud platform.
The audience included delegates from large London law firms, banks, and an outsourcing company used by Government. A senior figure from an acquiring bank who was unable to attend that evening booked a client meeting with PA Consulting on the basis of the content of the talks and their relevance to project work with cloud applications - an indication of the growing importance of the topic in relation to PSD2.
More cloud security events planned
7Safe’s Michael Shuff intends to hold a series of similar sponsored events at the venue in what he and Jayne Howlett (PA and 7Safe ediscovery and forensics specialist) hope will become a ‘must do’ evening for City enterprise decision-makers. Dates will be advertised at https://www.7safe.com/about-7Safe/7safe-events
